Hi, my name is Bianca and I am so blessed to share that this summer, I have the incredible opportunity to serve on a mission with JEMS in Toyohashi, Japan. Growing up, I watched older students go on missions, always wondering when my turn would come. As I recently entered college and deepened my relationship with the Lord, I felt an increasing desire to serve in a meaningful way. When I saw the announcement for this mission trip during my AACF large group, I asked myself, “How can I use this ministry to serve God?” Hearing God calling me to serve Him, I decided to take this step forward.

Japan stood out to me because I learned that only 1% of the population identifies as Christian. This made me reflect on both my own faith journey and the opportunity to share God’s love with a community that may not have had much exposure to it. I was drawn to the idea of building cross-cultural connections and learning from the Japanese people. Through this mission, I hope not only to grow in my faith but also to walk alongside others, spreading the love of Christ in a place where it is less known.
